Your Eyes by Helea

When I look at your eyes,
I see your true self.
I see you're sweet, and caring.
I see you're giving and forgiving.
I see your love for me.

When I look at your eyes I stop myself from crying
When I'm alone and think about your eyes I cry.
I can't stop thinking that one day I'll never see those eyes again
That I'll never see the love or the sweetness
Or the love that makes you who you are.
One day you'll be gone - gone from me.
Gone from this world.
No matter what happens, those eyes will one day close
And forever rest in peace.

But you'll never be completely gone,
Because every time I close my eyes,
There you will be.

SNS: This is for you

I know you are feeling extremely crappy because of work. And I know you're confused and angry and frustrated and feeling helpless and/or guilty. You have to make some major decisions ahead. Just know that I got your back, woman. 110%, all the way.

Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, you are now on top of the world.

Shama and I finally took the Flyer last night, after almost a month of postponements. And I'm so glad we did because (a)I didn't waste a perfectly good ticket, (b)I've been meaning to go there since the advent of my 22nd birthday and (c)I'm scared shitless of heights and The Flyer was like a 42-storey taunt.

At first I was as cool as James Dean, but once I was inside the glass cabin (which made everything larger than life and thus, scarier), I was melting faster than you can say "James who?" I sat rooted on the bench for the first quarter of the journey as my legs were like jelly. Even though the ascend was as smooth as a baby's bottom, I still felt each tremor and jerk of the contraption. (It didn't help that instead of admiring the setting sun and the awesome view, my eyes were glued to the wires and machines).

The only reason I didn't pee in my pants (and believe me, I almost did), was that an 8-year old girl who was with her parents, was braver than I was. She was frolicking around in the cabin and walking around freely, unaware of the fact that we were in a glass thing hovering miles away from the ground.

Thank God Shama forced me off my seat and let me clutch her hand (rather strongly I might add) to guide me to admire the view. Shama, I apologise if I hurt your hand and I thank you for not laughing at how much of a sissy I was.

Once we were almost at the top, some of the fear subsided and I could truly admire the view. Even with constant looks towards the ground, I still felt it was a pretty amazing ride. Once we were at the pinnacle, a disembodied female voice called out, "Ladies & gentlemen, boys & girls, you are now at the top of the world. You are currently 165 metres from the ground (why oh why?!) and will be descending shortly. The ride will end in approximately 10 minutes."

Although my heart and stomach wanted to switch places throughout the ride, it was not as scary as I thought it would be. So for all you people with acrophobia, I strongly recommend you to take this ride. Just remember to bring along a friend who isn't afriad of heights.

Perhaps the coolest bunch of groupmates I've ever had the privilege to work with. :)

This is my brother's artwork. He made it for a term paper I did on Art & Children. This is a scene from one of his favourite movies, The Lord of The Rings. He didn't want to colour it for fear of "spoiling" his artwork. And as he repeatedly informed me, this was an especially difficult and long endeavour as he spent almost a whole day on this. He's very proud of this and so am I.

MY INAUGURAL FILM REVIEW IN PROSAIC MAGAZINE

PRETTY PERSUASION tells a story of a beautiful, rich, unloved Beverly Hills brat who involves her whole town in a scandal just so she can satisfy her desire to be on TV. Like every slim, blonde…er, brunette, blue-eyed Barbie, Kimberly Joyce (played by an amazing Evan Rachel Wood) wants to be an actress. Badly. She wants it so much that she manipulates her two best friends and convinces them to sue their scruffy, somewhat pedophilic English teacher, Mr. Anderson, for sexual assault. And she gives oral sex to anyone, including a lesbian female reporter, who’ll get her closer to her dream of Hollywood domination. So it’s a little hard to swallow (pun intended) that this cruel, scarily-intelligent, sexy Lolita is only 15 years old.

As the story progresses from the courtroom to the actual events and back again, it slowly dawns on you that dear Kimberly is such a “dirty little whore” (courtesy of a poetic ex-boyfriend) because of her narcissistic, racist, perverted pig of a father. I mean, he wipes semen off his thigh from a recent jerk-off session while having a serious father-daughter talk with Kimberly and uses the same tissue again to blow his nose. Eww…

Peppered with racist comments and jokes that will have you laughing and coughing loudly to cover it up, PRETTY PERSUASION is pretty smart and funny. The Quickie-like film, along with a great soundtrack and in-you-face shots of its young, good-looking cast will take you on quite a gratifying ride.

However, the ending is as disappointing as a limp penis. I won’t tell you exactly what happened, but it goes entirely against Kimberly’s character and makes her seem human when you should hate her for the malicious, manipulative bitch that she is.

There I’ve said it. So sue me.

My name is Red and I always have my hood on. I help my granny deliver her forest-famous goodies every day. I’ve always wanted to travel far, far away. I don’t know who the Goody Bandit is or why he/she/it is stealing recipes from every patisserie here.
OR DO I?

My name is Granny Puckett and the only crime I’ve ever committed is making sinfully- delicious goodies. And no, that is not a tattoo of three “G”s I have at the back of my neck. I’m just your average Grandma who loves to knit and play Bingo.
OR AM I?

My name is…uh…The Woodsman. I am the spokesperson of “Paul’s Bunion Cream”. I drive a Schnitzel truck. My dream is to be a yodeler for “The Sound Of Munich”. I didn’t mean to crash through Granny Puckett’s window with my axe. I was just practicing.
OR WAS I?

Here's the very first poem I composed. I was only 13 years old, feeling a tumultuous rainbow of emotions and getting very scared by their power. This poem was specifically for a boy, now a man, that I thought I loved, but I didn't. Wherever you are, I wish you peace.

SOMEONE by mustardgirl

How I wish that someone is out there
Someone who loves and someone who cares
Someone who will stand by me through thick and thin
Someone who loves and cares from within
Someone who adores me for who I am
Someone who’s sweet like blueberry jam
Maybe I’m asking to much of all these
Who can realise my hopes?
Who has the key?
But
Maybe that someone is already out there
Maybe he’s right here
Looking at me.

It's a dark, gloomy Sunday and I feel restless cooped up in my room. Wonder if anyone out there feels the same way?
